Well the 2011 tattoo tour has come to an end. This year's trip had a lot less tattooing and a lot more catching up with old friends - which I am totally okay with! I plan to be back in Denver this October to see a very special family friend bring her first child into the world - so hopefully I'll get some tattooing done on that trip as well.
As for the ride back from Denver, it was terrifying and totally killed my nerves! Southern Colorado was all snow and ice when I left and I probably didn't get over 45 mph during the first 3 hours of my trip home. Slippery roads (wet, slushy, or icy) are NOT a friend of the rear-wheel drive Mustang. I think I had at least three minor heart attacks during that stretch of the trip! Thankfully, I made it into New Mexico and Arizona.. with a lot of high wind advisories and a wildfire in Northern AZ.
The lesson here is to never road trip through Colorado until after the last snows in May!
Here are just a few more photo tid-bits that include the most epic tattoo of my trip - a pair of tiny, pink shears on my mom's hand! Yes, she got a tattoo finally! Of course, the only fitting piece would have to relate to her profession as a cosmetologist. Tattooing my mom was an experience I won't soon forget! I also tattooed a few of her students on my last day in town since my mom was kind enough to let me set up all my gear inside her hair school Tuesday.
Thank you, Noodles 'N Company, for the great lunch!
Keep your eyes peeled for the release of Ray's clothing line: Mile High Militia:
Willie at Ananda Art and Tattoo laid down this awesome ode to the mile high city on my right hand - '5280' :) A big thank you is due to Willie and Jesse of Ananda Art and Tattoo for letting me invade their space once again and for just being all-around awesome guys!
