1500 miles down - Portland:

I decided to take a detour through the redwood forest of Northern California yesterday and it turned out to be the most beautiful scenery I've seen in all my travels. The drive was incredibly intense and stressful, due to all the winding mountain roads and constant rain. I can say that the little highway that runs between Redding and the coast, CA-299, is a MUST see... incredible. Because of the rain, I got very few pictures of the giant redwoods, but here are some little nuggets from along the way so far:

Thank you to a dear ol' friend, Kimball, for brightening my spirits with your huge blocks of meat and hilarious analogies about Davis, California!!

Say hello to my new road companion, Pismo! Straight from his watery grave to my rear view mirror - fragile but fun!

And thank you Arianna for letting me stay at your place and do this rad sunflower on your shoulder!
