I wish I could say that my trip to Phoenix was delightful and highly profitable.. However, it turned out to be the trip of cancellations, no shows, and no tips.. It has been beyond frustrating.
I did get to work on a few giant pieces that are inching closer to completion and tattoo some old friends. It wasn't a total loss but I did end up leaving with around $800 less than expected because of cancellations, no shows, and people shrinking down their appointments last minute. I am exhausted and annoyed and will probably not be returning to Phoenix to tattoo again.. (at least not in this capacity).. Next time I come down, it will be for just the select few pieces that are in progress and I will not be advertising my trip to other clients. I honestly feel that I am at a point in my career where I don't need to tolerate such disrespect and "wishy-washy"-ness from clients.
I will be referring anyone to asks for new work to Heather and Marge at Lady Luck in downtown Phoenix. These two gals made me feel right at home and I wish we could've had more time to chat or go out for a cocktail at some point.. Next time we will, I'm sure!!
I think my level of stress caused me to forget to take pictures of most of the pieces I worked on.. Whoops!
